Mercedes Cebrián writes fiction, journalistic essays and poetry and translates literature from English and French into Spanish. Her writing has been published in newspapers such as El País, and in journals and magazines such as "Poetry London" and “The Indian Quarterly.” Her literary universe explores, among other aspects of reality, the emotional ties that humans develop with objects, food and music. She has been a writing fellow at the Spanish Academy in Rome, and a writer in residence in the MALBA Museum (Argentina), among others. Her newest book Cocido y Violonchelo [Stew and Cello] was published in 2022 by Penguin Random House Spain. In 2022, she wrote and presented the radio program Música de Principio a Fin for Radio Clásica (Spanish National Radio).
