Currrent artist-in-residence Egor Tatarenko performs an evening that brings translocal, cultural traditions to the table and invites for that purpose his collaborator Anastasiia Tatarenko. Together they combine performance, discussion, and participatory elements, and explore themes of family connections, artistic partnership, and cultural dialogue.
Egor Tatarenko (*1994) is an arts producer and transdisciplinary artist studying at ZHdK. His practice focuses on creating performative experiences that challenge traditional theatrical forms. Previously head of events at the GULAG History Museum in Moscow, his work explores intergenerational communication and cultural memory through music and performance.
Anastasiia Tatarenko (*1993) is a performer, singer, and theatre director working between immersive theater and multimedia installation. Her practice spans experimental theatre and voice research. Current MA student in Transdisciplinarity at ZHdK, she explores how social phenomena manifest in the body through experimental performance and documentary approaches.
The evening features a work-in-progress presentation of Egor's new performance "Inherited Melodies," introduction of Anastasiia's artist book "You are small little *****," and launch of their participatory project "Letter Circle." Through their approach combining different traditions, the artists create a space for cultural exchange and dialogue.
The performance ends with some casual food and the opportunity to get together and meet the artists.
